About Hadley
Hadley brings 23 years of experience with horses to her role as trainer for the Allynbrooke program. That
experience includes riding, competing, teaching, and business management in a broad range of riding disciplines,
including a long-time focus on hunters, jumpers, and equitation.
Beginnings
-
Hadley began at the age of six with her first grade teacher who also taught horseback riding
lessons on her own property after school . Hadley credits her success as a rider to the
phenomenal beginning Judi Hook provided her through the first seven—and most critical—years
of her riding career. Hadley and Judi remain very close friends today.
Junior Years
-
In 1986, with the guidance of Judi and the help and encouragement of Hadley’s mother, Hadley
won the US Arabian National Hunt Seat Medal Class, in Louisville, Kentucky. Hadley was just 13
at the time and faced a competitive field of entrants from all around the country. Following
this milestone in Hadley’s life, Judi sent Hadley, along with one of Judi’s own horses for
Hadley to ride, to John Turner and Jack Hammond of Thumbs Up Farm to further her riding career.
Hadley had a very successful career competing in the Junior Hunter and Equitation divisions, both
on Judi’s horse and her own, which Hadley’s family purchased on Hadley’s 16th birthday. Hadley
also had much success in the jumper ring.
Building a Career
-
In January of 1993, Hadley made the move to Oregon to take a grooming position with Rich
Fellers. After one long summer of traveling and learning, she took a position running Mary
Nash’s school horse program and exercising horses for Buppy Gordon. Since then, Hadley
has also groomed for Prestige Arabians of Scholls, Oregon. She has ridden and trained green
ponies for Caroline Kuney. Most recently, Hadley has been training, teaching, and showing as
an assistant trainer for two years for Linda Worley of Cornerstone. Concurrently, she worked
in a full-time job as an estimator and purchaser for a national construction company for
five years until June 2002. At that time, Hadley dedicated her time to her Hunter/Jumper
training career.

Origins of Allynbrooke
-
How did Allynbrooke come to life? Hadley’s family purchased five acres in Lakewood, Washington
when she was 15. Hadley and her brother ran the small five-stall facility for which they
established the name Allynbrooke (their middle names). At a relatively young age, Hadley took
on the responsibility of running both the business and horse end of things at the small
facility. Later, when Hadley’s brother took a position as breeding manager, she continued to
run the facility while attending her senior year in high school.
-
Hadley recently brought back the Allynbrooke name in her own Hunter/Jumper and Equitation
business and looks forward to many years of success and good times with her students.
The Importance of Balance
-
Hadley has a lifelong passion for horses and riding but she also places tremendous value
on education and developing other life interests. She encourages her students to do well
in school and continue to college to find careers that suit them best. Hadley herself is
actively engaged in continuing her own education. She provides a positive role model for
her students by juggling her business, school, and home life, always seeking balance among them.
